These unique jeans by Maurice Malone, are straight-leg, handmade shibori jeans crafted from washi denim (Japanese paper). The fabric, featuring an indigo and black pattern on white, was hand-dyed in Japan using 400-year-old traditional shibori techniques by master artisans at Arimatsu Shibori-Some, and then handcrafted into jeans in New York by Maurice Malone and his team.

These jeans are made of quality Japanese washi denim, which is a blend of 68% cotton and 32% washi (Japanese paper), and they have an unparalleled texture and comfort level.

Japan's Arimatsu Shibori-Some, expert artisans delicately hand-dye the fabric using 400-year-old traditional shibori processes. This procedure guarantees that each yard of cloth has a distinct indigo and black pattern on white, making each pair of jeans truly one-of-a-kind.

These jeans, made in Brooklyn, New York, by Maurice Malone and his team, feature distinctive hand-sewn back pocket designs and remarkable attention to detail. The shibori collaboration ceased in 2021, during the COVID-19 pandemic, when growing expenses rendered producing this fabric unsustainable. Crafted from the last remaining stock of this rare fabric, this pair, available in waist size 34, is a limited edition gem.
