The M1998-BR fit designation identifies this pattern as Maurice Malone’s modern recreation of the original 1998 Blade Runner fit—a silhouette re-engineered for today’s standards while preserving the unmistakable attitude of the original Mojeans design.

The objective wasn’t to change what made the fit special—it was to improve it. The exaggerated hip curves of the original pattern were refined into a straighter outseam, making future selvedge versions possible while creating a cleaner silhouette. The balance, proportions, and construction details were all updated, preserving the attitude of Maurice Malone’s 90s vintage denim while benefiting from everything learned over the past 27 years.

Cut from 14 oz. denim, the jeans feature a light stonewashed base with authentic hand-sanded whiskers and gentle aging effects that recreate the naturally worn appearance of vintage denim.

Every pair is handmade in small batches inside Maurice Malone’s own factory and studio in Brooklyn, New York, making these true Made in the USA jeans. This small-batch approach is intentional. After decades of designing collections produced by outside factories, Maurice Malone is now building the company he always envisioned—personally developing, producing, and refining each style inside his own American factory. Each release is another step toward producing some of the world’s finest jeans while steadily expanding the collection, one style at a time.

The details remain faithful to the originals. The buttons and rivets have been recreated from Maurice Malone collections produced between 1998 and 1999, now manufactured with heavier-weight materials and improved quality while maintaining the original designs, finishes, and colors. The signature Logo Cuff hem and embroidered M Malone rear pocket logo complete a pair of jeans that honors the original Mojeans era while raising the standard of construction.

This isn’t a reproduction built from old memories. It’s the original designer revisiting one of his defining fits, refining it with decades of additional experience, and producing it the same way he started over 40 years ago—inside his own factory.
